Hi, I'm Mathieu. I'm a software designer from France and I live in Kyoto, Japan with my family. I love the internet, music and video games.

This is a perpetually-under-construction website. I use it to give news to my friends, or present some of my work to people in my network. I text myself in messages and give seasonal updates in now. You can send me an email.

I was born in 1986 in Marseille. I got hooked on computers and video games around twelve, when a friend showed up with a pirated copy of Half-Life and it blew my mind. I started learning Japanese around then too, hoping to play games before they were localized, and at sixteen I left for a year-long exchange in Yokosuka. I moved back to Japan for good in 2013 with my wife and we're now raising two kids together in Kyoto. I've worked as a designer/developer hybrid ever since, and today I'm a Senior Designer at Metanomaly, working on generative AI for anime, comics and games. Outside of that, I'm usually deep in an RPG, training, chasing fluency in Japanese, or out cycling around Kyoto.
